Our Association

Our Company

The Victor Harbor Business Association (VHBA) is a non-profit professional association that supports the wider business community in our region.  We are passionate about developing a business environment that is exciting and fosters innovative thinking and encourages the entrepreneurial mind.  The VHBA strives to see local economic development and supports small business in many different ways as well as developing programs with local schools for youth employment.

We’re here to help new businesses get established, provide networking and marketing opportunities, support with representation to governing bodies, provide introduction to other supporting businesses and assistance in gaining a higher local profile.  Our services extend to a membership from the wider business community and the VHBA is well connected throughout the region.

In striving to help business to succeed we don’t hesitate to think outside the square in working up ideas, creating solutions to issues, or collaborating with other local bodies to see great projects established.  It’s stimulating, challenging, and rewarding - a great place to live and an even better place to work.

The VHBA takes great pride in providing opportunity for members to showcase their businesses through ‘Building Local Networks’ (BLN). Usually held on the first Monday of each month, the BLN get togethers are a highly effective method of connecting with other business people and local networks.

These are provided as part of the annual membership to the VHBA and non-members are always welcome to come along and see what the BLNs are about.

Each month the BLN is held at a different members' business, taking the opportunity to get inside and see first hand what a business is marketing, how it differentiates from others in the same industry, its uniqueness, its people and its culture. The BLN offers members huge marketing opportunities - all as part of their membership!

The VHBA also utilises the BLNs each month to introduce to businesses local school students who are keen to enter the workforce in some capacity. By coming to the BLNs members get to meet these brave and enthusiastic students face to face.

The BLNs attract around 50 business people each month - it's an event that is designed to benefit the business community and each business owner. They're a great night…not something to miss. Get along to a BLN and show people what you’re about!

  • If it’s your first time along, you’ll get the opportunity to profile your business for up to 2 minutes to the whole group.
  • Help your business grow simply by way of introduction and handing out some business cards.
  • Bring any promotional material you want to display on the night - we provide the space, you provide the rest.
  • Referral marketing is great for business so get your name on the lips of as many as you can…starting at ‘Building Local Networks’.
  • Finger food provided, buy your own drinks.

Quite simply…if you’re not there, you miss out and so does your business!

2009/10 financial VHBA members @ $5 per head catering contribution. Non VHBA Members @ $10.00 per business + $5 per head catering contribution. Annual memberships are only $80 per business for 2009/10 so make sure your business is a member and take advantage of these great marketing opportunities.

Register your interest in attending a BLN by phoning or sending a text message (including your name + name of your business) to the VHBA BLN Coordinator (Marlisa Seidel) on 0438 301 962 or by email to Committee Member Marlisa Seidel (see Main Menu item 'Contact' and go to listing under 'Committee')
